“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
Pablo Picasso
I always come back to this quote. It rattles around in my head every so often when I am around my kids and they so jubilantly explore their creativity. With wonder and awe they embrace themselves through artistic discovery and I am always left remembering how as adults we lose this ability to shed our insecurities and hide behind fear and self proclaimed “creative blocks”. My kids don’t have creative blocks - they simply move through it, burning bright, exploring perspectives and constantly challenging themselves to see things a new way. In those moments, their eyes wide open and they hearts full of wonder, I say…”I’ll have what they’re having”. If only it were that easy…or is it??
